  • To promote the optimal use of the healthcare workforce and improve quality of care delivered through interprofessional collaboration.
  • To strengthen the existing healthcare workforce in rural and underserved areas and support the retention of community-based health professionals.

    The West Virginia Rural Health Association (WVRHA) advocates for empowering all West Virginians to advance their quality of life, their well-being and their access to excellence in rural health care. Our mission is to unite people, communities and organizations to strengthen rural health in West Virginia.

    The WVRHA is a non-profit, grassroots, member-driven organization.     The University of Kentucky Center of Excellence in Rural Health was established by state legislation in 1990 to address health disparities in rural Kentucky and the unique challenges faced by our communities. The mission was and still is today to improve the health and wellbeing of rural Kentuckians.
